Ego Eyes
A mirror image peace of mind you seek, a shade of deepest shadow that you might portray the picturesque from pots of bleak, construct the bright of day from dark of night. In hiding from your self-inflicted pain, you duck away from truth. You would protect the cloth of your umbrella from the rain, your fragile self from trial by retrospect. A self-protective sheath, you realize … a double-cross entendre, metaphor that serves to catch your ego eyes and focus on the pain you would ignore.
